Our roots
Farms, family
& the table.
The Gilder family has deep roots in cattle farming in this part of the country. Our own herds graze at Gretton Fields near Cheltenham and at Knightwick in Worcestershire. The Longhorn is where that work becomes a meal shared with friends and family.
Our name honours the British Longhorn, a traditional native breed known for beautifully marbled beef. We also raise Hereford, Angus and other native breeds. The family’s roots extend into transport, too, with a history stretching back a century or more.
Why provenance matters
Great food is easier to love when you know where it began.
Our beef comes from family herds, while produce from local growers and makers helps shape the rest of the table. Our farm shop, Teddington’s, is a separate part of the family’s food story nearby.
